If you want to jazz up your viewing experience, Amazon is now selling its new Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote in India. Without having to burn a hole in your pocket, you will be treated to improved sound and picture quality. The Alexa Voice Remote that comes bundled in also features dedicated volume, power, and mute buttons for the first time.
The Fire TV Stick 4K is pitched at INR 5,999 and it is now retailing on Amazon.in. The two-year OneAssist Protection Plan is also available at INR 499 and EMI starts at INR 282 per month. In case you don’t want to upgrade your existing Fire TV Stick but the new Alexa Voice Remote catches your fancy, you get it separately for INR 1,999.
Underpinned by a new quad-core, 1.7GHz processor, the Fire TV Stick 4K is said to be nearly 80 percent more powerful than the existing Fire TV Stick. This allows the revamped Fire TV Stick 4K to deliver quicker load times, faster streaming and crisp picture quality. All the three main HDR standards, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are supported and so is Dolby Atmos audio. The Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are debutants and will provide support for dynamic metadata, which means the picture quality will be visibly more detailed. The difference would be more apparent if you own a compatible TV.
The all-new Alexa Voice Remote seems more of a universal remote than its progenitor. Owing to Bluetooth and multi-directional infrared, the remote cannot just be used to control televisions, it also works on other things such as, AV equipment and cable boxes. From searching for TV shows and controlling playback, to checking the weather and ordering food, the new voice remote has a lot of tricks up its sleeves. All you have to do is just ask is it to do things. The Fire TV Stick 4K can also be paired with Echo devices for a hands-free experience.
The Fire TV Stick 4K, along with the updated Alexa Voice Remote, will elevate your Fire TV experience manifold. In addition to accessing numerous apps and Alexa skills, you will be able to enjoy content from Prime Video, Sony LIV, Hotstar, Netflix, Zee5m and other platforms. Moreover, content can also be streamed from websites using Firefox or Silk browser. Additionally, you can also listen to all kinds of audio, podcasts and live radio stations via services such as Saavn, TuneIn and of course, Amazon Prime Music. Since the new stick is also compatible with Amazon’s Fire TV Recast, you can also watch and record over-the-air (OTA) TV.
At INR 5,999, the Fire TV Stick 4K is quite a gain, although, you might be able to find some cheaper options in the market too, such as the INR 2,889 Roku Premiere. However, since Amazon has a strong ecosystem, a couple of additional bucks would buy you a lot of conveniences. The other options are Apple TV 4K and Chromecast Ultra, but they are a bit on the expensive side.
