Brooklyn Bridge Fire: Car Crash Shuts Down Bridge, Multiple Injuries Reported

Four vehicles were involved in the crash.
A four-vehicle crash on the Brooklyn Bridge on Wednesday morning left one person deceased and five others injured.
Around 7:15 a.m. EDT, the Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) responded to the crash, a spokesperson for the City of New York Police Department (NYPD) told Newsweek. The crash involved four cars, three of which caught on fire.
At least one person was killed during the crash and five others were injured. NYPD did not have the cause of the crash and said an investigation was still ongoing. Around 8:00 a.m. EDT, the FDNY tweeted that the fire had been knocked down and multiple FDNY members were operating on the scene.
Due to the collision, the eastbound direction of the Brooklyn Bridge was closed, according to NYPD. NYPD told residents and travelers to expect a heavy police presence.
