Google employees across the world staged a mass walkout Thursday in protest of the tech giant’s handling of sexual misconduct allegations.
Thousands of workers streamed out of Google’s European headquarters in Dublin, as well as offices in London, Zurich, Berlin, Tokyo and Singapore.
Employees in New York planned to follow suit at 11 a.m.
The walkout comes following a bombshell reports of sexual assault and harassment at the company at the hands of some of its top executives.
One report revealed Google planned to pay Android creator Andy Rubin a $90 million exit package despite sexual assault allegations against him.
Meanwhile, Richard DeVaul, the director of Google parent company Alphabet’s X research lab, also resigned in wake of accusations that he asked to give a massage to a woman he was interviewing for a job.
“I haven’t experienced harassment myself, but if even one person has experienced it it’s important for us, for me, to show our solidarity,” said Kate, who declined to give her last name. She is one of 7,000 employees at Google’s Dublin location, the largest facility outside the US.
