Former Detroit Tigers start Justin Verlander and supermodel wife, Kate Upton, celebrated their first wedding anniversary last weekend.
Then on Wednesday, they had even more reason to celebrate.
Upton posted on Instagram on Saturday night a photo for her and Verlander’s first child.
Genevieve Upton Verlander was born on Wednesday according to the caption on Upton’s account.
The site features a black-and-white photo of an infant with her hand to her mouth.
Further details about the baby and where the child was born weren’t released.
The three-time Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover woman announced via Instagram that she was pregnant back in July.
The couple got married last November, just days after Verlander won his first World Series with Houston. The Astros weren’t as fortunate this fall, losing to the eventual World Series champion Red Sox in the American League Championship Series.
Verlander, who was the AL Rookie of the Year, Cy Young Award winner and AL MVP during his time with the Tigers, met Upton while filming a video game commercial in 2014 and got engaged two years later.
