North Korea and South Korea agreed Friday to send a letter to the International Olympic Committee confirming their intention to co-host the 2032 Olympics.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un agreed to cohost the games in September.
South Korean Vice Sports Minister Roh Tae-kang also said that they were scheduling regular sporting events with their northern neighbors, according to WTOP .
“The plan is to organize friendly competitions marking meaningful anniversaries between the South and North, for example the first anniversaries of the [April] inter-Korean summit and the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics,” he told reporters Friday.
