World of Tanks publisher Wargaming has unveiled its first new IP in a while: Pagan Online.
Pagan Online is a top-down, multiplayer action RPG inspired by Diablo, with a few twists of its own. While Wargaming does promise genre staples like dungeons, fast-paced combat, and – of course – loot, it hopes to modernise the genre’s combat.
Though details are slim at the moment, Wargaming says Pagan Online will feature a combat system inspired by MOBAs without sacrificing the action players expect from ARPG games. It’s intended to appeal to both camps. The game’s story is set in a pre-Christianity world – hence the name – where gods’ wrath has been unleashed.
Pagan Online is developed by Mad Head Games, whose credits include a long list of casual games. The developer is promising varied environments, multiple modes, customisable difficulty, and immense replayability. The game will also feature a “lengthy” single-player mode that’ll be expanded over time with new episodes and expansions.
The game is due for release sometime in 2019 on PC, but you can sign up to test it out early at the official site .
