Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee introduce a new feature that allows players to skip over trainers and obstacles on any given route thanks to a few special Pokemon.
The Kanto region in Pokemon Let’s Go is filled with plenty of trainers and obstacles for players to overcome as they work toward catching every species of Pokemon or defeating all the gym leaders. However, sometimes players may want to skip over some areas if they are in a hurry or are low on supplies. Thankfully, there is one way players can bypass trainers and wild Pokemon in Pokemon Let’s Go, and it’s all thanks to a few specific Pokemon.
To do this helpful trick, players will need to first need to track down one of three Pokemon: Charizard, Dragonite, or Aerodactyl. Charizard is the easiest to come across, as players can get a Charmander for free as a gift. Once players have one of those Pokemon, they can take it out of its Poke Ball and ride on its back. This will allow players to fly across routes to avoid trainers, skip past ledges, and even find more wild flying Pokemon. However, this will not let players pass over gates. Players will also need to defeat the Elite Four to gain access to this ability.
If players want to find extremely rare Pokemon, they will definitely want to use this technique. Some Pokemon, like Charizard, Dragonite, and the legendary birds, will spawn flying over a route if players are patient. Players looking for shiny Pokemon will find that this is the best way to get shiny versions of extremely rare spawns. This is also a great way to find flying-type Pokemon, or getting an easier catch chain on a Pokemon that can be found over a route.
It is worth noting that this should not be confused with the Fly Secret Technique that players earn during the main storyline. While that ability will allow players to traverse Kanto quickly, it does not go far in the way of helping players get to specific parts of a route without encountering trainers and Pokemon. Players looking to level up their team should probably not skip over too many trainer battles unless they plan on catching a lot of Pokemon while soaring across the Kanto skies.
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee are available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
