We’ve rounded up where to get the best deals on Fitbit activity trackers running up to Black Friday and Christmas.
Activity trackers are super popular, and that’s a great sign that these gadgets are more than just a fad you get bored with; they really work! Fitbits will be the number one choice for many looking to get healthier. With Black Friday sales in full swing, now is a good time to buy a Fitbit.
Most Fitbit users keep their healthy promises longer thanks to the great app and challenges with friends, colleagues and family. Fitbits have ruled the fitness tracker market for years, and the current line-up is better than ever thanks to the introduction of the company’s first fully fledged smartwatch, the Ionic.
There are eight activity trackers in Fitbit’s current range: Flex 2, Alta, Alta HR, Charge 3, Zip, Ace (for children) and the Versa and Ionic (which has seen a price drop to £279 from £299) Fitbit smartwatches. You may also find older models heavily reduced. Their features vary significantly, as do their prices.
The cheapest we’ve seen the top-of-the-range Fitbit Ionic smartwatch is a pretty amazing £229 (£50 off) at Microsoft. It’s also discounted at John Lewis, where it’s from £243 – and then at Argos, where it’s £30 off at just £249. Argos also has the sporty Adidas Edition Ionic for £269, as does John Lewis.
We haven’t seen many deals on the smaller but just as able Fitbit Versa (it lacks only the Ionic’s built-in GPS but can connect to your phone’s GPS), but we did spot it at nearly £20 off at John Lewis, from £171, down from £199.
Consider just-discontinued models, too, for bargain. For example, the Charge 3 was released only in October, so the Charge 2 is at the top of the bargains this Black Friday and Christmas season. The 3 may be newer but the 2 was our top-rated fitness tracker as recently as September, so is well worth considering at a cut-price, and is available in a wide array of colours.
It costs £139 new at the Fitbit Store (alongside the strangely £10 cheaper Charger 3), but you can find it for just £79 at Boots – or £99 for the Special Edition (usually £159). It’s also available at Amazon for the same £79 and again at Argos. And, never knowingly undersold, John Lewis has the same £79 and £99 Charge 2 deals.
Other recent but now discontinued Fitbits include the colour-screen Fitbit Blaze, which Argos has for £20 off at £109 .
If you’d prefer a discreet activity tracker that isn’t worn around the wrist, you might like the Zip. For the most impressive features and a watch-buckle wristband, look to the Charge, Alta HR, Versa or Ionic. And for pop-clasp sitting in the middle of the range when it comes to features there’s the original Alta and the Flex 2.
Kids can use any Fitbit, but for various reasons Fitbit allows only kids aged 13+ to register – most parents just fake their kid’s age on registration, but there are benefits to using the child-friendly Fitbit Ace (Family Account and Parents View, for example), and Argos has it for £10 off at £69 .
