Rain shouldn't ruin a warm New Year's Eve

Visibility is starting to increase Monday morning as fog dissipates, leaving behind an unusually mild New Year’s Eve.
Raleigh, N. C. — The Triangle could see some of the warmest Jan. 1 temperatures on record, and for people enjoying WRAL First Night Raleigh, it could feel quite warm outdoors around midnight.
The normal overnight low for New Year’s Eve into Jan. 1 is 31 degrees, but temperatures could be as high as 62 degrees or as low as 55 degrees in Raleigh as 2019 begins. As New Year’s Day continues, afternoon highs could near 70 degrees.
