The man characterized by police as a “violent” felon while he avoided arrest for three months in 2017 was sentenced Thursday to a minimum of two years in prison for aggravated domestic assault.
Livingston County Circuit Court Judge Michael Hatty sentenced Edward Hulbert, 39, of Howell to a prison term of two to 10 years.
Hulbert pleaded guilty to the domestic violence charge last month. He is currently serving a four-year prison sentence for a prior conviction of assault by strangulation and aggravated domestic violence. His new sentence will run concurrently.
In October 2017, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help in finding Hulbert, saying he has a “lengthy violent criminal history.”
