It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Phil Collins around these parts. But the amiable, hit-stocked English pop star is at last headed back to Detroit, playing Little Caesars Arena on Oct. 1.
It’s his first solo show here since a 2004 concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills, where the Genesis drummer also performed as part of that band’s reunion tour in 2007.
The LCA date is part of a 15-city outing announced Thursday, a career retrospective dubbed Still Not Dead Yet, Live! The autumn run follows a global tour last year that included 15 North American concerts.
Tickets will go on sale in coming days in several stages.
Most notably: Collins will deploy the Ticketmaster Verified Fan system used recently by Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and the Black Keys, ostensibly designed to thwart scalpers and ticket bots.
Free registration is open now through late Sunday night at this Phil Collins website, where fans can obtain offer codes.
