Over the last several years, numerous rumors, fueled by teases and oblique statements, about a new entry in the Splinter Cell franchise have been circulating. While these Splinter Cell rumors have kept fans thinking about the series, a recent tweet seemingly offered confirmation that a new Splinter Cell is indeed in the works. However, this tweet was promptly followed by a statement from Ubisoft, which looks to backtrack completely on the confirmation.
The tweet in question came from The Division 2 Creative Director Julian Gerighty, and it was quite straightforward in its indication. Specifically, Gerighty’s tweet stated that he is working with Dan Hay, executive producer at Ubisoft Montreal, and Roman Campos Oriola, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal, on the next Splinter Cell title.
