It’s Monday May 11, and it’s time for PE with Joe right now
Welcome back to another week of PE with Joe Wicks – and it’s now time to get running and jumping with Joe, with the link embedded below to get you going, so head on over there now (and it’s wheel of fortune today, with some all new workouts too).
We’ve also got all the advice you need to help you pump the YouTube workout from a phone or tablet onto a larger screen too.
Remember to bookmark this page if you’re a regular PE with Joe Wicks fan – we’ll be linking to the live video every day. if you’re new to it, well, just bookmark it anyway and commit to getting fit during isolation.
While some sessions are slightly ‘alternative’, with things like a coin flip, a set of cards or a wheel of fortune deciding the exercises, most days it’s a traditional twenty minute session broken into two 10 minute halves, with a two minute rest in between.
Even if you’ve not been doing the sessions so far, or you’re still not committed and need a reason: it works, even if you don’t do everything. Just strap on your trainers, commit to opening YouTube every day (and come back here to find out where to click. It’s worth it, promise.
We’ve been at it since the beginning, and not only do we feel much better now, it also didn’t take long before we didn’t need to make a weird sound when standing up from a chair. That was nice.
Just follow what Joe Wicks says at these points and you’ll be fine – sometimes Joe Wicks has added sessions where he’ll spin a wheel, toss a coin or play ‘higher or lower’ with cards to work out which exercises will be coming up to help keep you interested too.
For the younger ones (and the adults too, if we’re honest) there’s also a daily quiz of facts, as well as a ‘spot the difference’ to see what’s changed in the room he performs his workouts from. Plus there’s always the chance to see his children run in, and every Friday he gets dressed up in fancy dress for the cunningly-named ‘Fancy Dress Friday’.
(New to PE with Joe? If doing these sessions feels like too much to start with, Joe has just created a beginners’ workout – you can check that over on his YouTube channel now).
And every time you watch a Joe Wicks PE workout on YouTube, those adverts at the start are generating money – and all that cash is going to the NHS, as Joe is donating it all straight across.
So it’s a good workout in more ways than one – and he’s announced that, combined with the t-shirts he’s selling, PE with Joe has raised over £200,000.
We’d recommend doing the workout in front of a TV rather than an iPad or smartphone – and we’ve picked out the tech you’ll need to do so. Most smart TVs can connect using the ‘cast’ icon (more on that below), or you can get an additional unit for cheap.
And definitely get a fitness tracker to show yourself how much fitter you’re getting (and you can get some brilliant cheap fitness trackers), smart scales to follow your fitness journey, and some smart other accessories like a yoga mat to make jumping around the living room that much simpler.
Ready to go today? We hope you are, as it’s now live on this link:Click here to watch Joe Wicks’ PE Workout on Monday 11 May – stream it now on YouTube
(If you’re wondering where the video player has gone in this article, we’re linking through to the main YouTube channel rather than embedding the video, to ensure maximum advert plays and helping get as much money raised for the NHS as possible.
