Gov. Kim Reynolds will hold her daily news conference at 11 a.m. Monday at the State Emergency Operations Center in Johnston.
On Friday, Reynolds spent time with Vice President Mike Pence who came to Des Moines for a roundtable discussion
When Pence disembarked Air Force 2 at 12:21 p.m. with U. S. Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, they were greeted by Reynolds. No one wore a mask.
Ahead of their arrival, Secret Service, Iowa National Guard personnel and Des Moines police waited outside the airport, also without masks.
Pence and his entourage first traveled to Urbandale’s Westkirk Presbyterian Church to meet with faith leaders about reopening houses of worship after many had closed during the past several months.
Reynolds announced last week she would lift restrictions on religious gatherings and allow services to be held across the state as long as they observe social distancing guidelines and increase sanitation efforts.
