Disney+’s ‘Hamilton’s Scores A PG-13 Rating. But How?

DIS next month, it won’t carry an R rating, despite the Broadway version featuring several f-word expletives.
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has given Hamilton a PG-13 rating “for language and some suggestive material.” However, if the Disney+ version of the film hadn’t changed anything from the musical, it would more than likely require an R rating.
In the Broadway version of the iconic Hamilton, actors use the f-word on several occasions. If a film only has one use of the word, the MPAA will allow for a PG-13 rating, as long as there isn’t other content that would require an R rating. Multiple uses of the word, however, require an R rating.
Although the Disney+ version of the film is supposed to be a big-screen version of the play, the MPAA rating at least suggests that nearly all of its expletives have been removed from the Disney+ version, Varietynotes.
