For the second weekend in a row, Detroit saw multiple shootings across the city.
This weekend’s shootings left one person dead and 9 individuals wounded, Detroit police said. An arrest was made in one of the incidents.
Last weekend saw a similar bout of violence, with 18 shootings that left four dead and 25 others wounded, according to Police Chief James Craig, who blamed built-up tensions from the pandemic and the nationwide Black Lives Matter protests over George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis.
“I’ve begun to really start thinking about what is going on,” Craig said at a press conference last Monday.
