If you’re trying to make your way through all of the Golden Globe-nominated dramas before the awards show is broadcast on February 28, Hulu is here to help. “Nomadland,” which is up for Best Picture, premiered in theaters and on Hulu simultaneously on February 19. The film is based on the book “Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century.” The story centers on a woman, Fern (Frances McDormand), who loses her job due to the recession. As she searches for work on the road in her van, Fern hears stories from other nomads in the American West. The film features supporting actors who are actually nomads in real life, including Bob Wells, known for his YouTube channel CheapRVliving. “Nomadland” is directed by Chloé Zhao, who is up for Best Director at the Golden Globes. Her next film will be Marvel’s highly anticipated superhero movie “Eternals” starring Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, and Salma Hayek.
