We’re starting to hear a lot about the Oppo Find X3, the next flagship phone line from Oppo.
The Oppo Find X3 series launch date is just a few days away, with an event confirmed for March 11, so if you’re interested to see what the Chinese company does with its new high-end phone line, you don’t have much longer to wait. Oppo is one of the bigger Chinese phone companies, and it’s starting to pick up a lot of attention in the west too. Its Find X line is its top offering, and the Find X2 devices in 2020 were some of the best phones of the year. The Oppo Find X3 range is the next range from the brand we’re expecting to see, and we now know that it’s coming in March, and possibly on March 11. We could see as many as four devices launched on that date. The latest phones from the company are the Oppo Reno 5 devices; they’re usually mid-rangers, but this newest line comes with a fairly premium ‘Oppo Reno 5 Pro Plus’. So could the Find X3 family push that further with a super-fancy phone? Maybe. The Oppo Find X2 line, released in early 2020, started with two phones, the ‘standard’ and Find X2 Pro, but two more were released a little later, the Find X2 Lite and Find X2 Neo, bringing the total number up to four. Given there was only one device in the first generation of Find X, that’s a slightly different approach for each series, but it’s got us pondering what the next device, the Oppo Find X3, could be like. We’ve heard a fair bit of information about the Find X3 range now, all of which you’ll find below, then below that we’ve also got a wish-list of the features we’d like to see. Oppo has now confirmed that the Oppo Find X3 range is being unveiled on March 11. That doesn’t come as a surprise, as Oppo had previously stated the Find X3 is launching in March 2021, and on top of that, a leaker had also claimed that the range will be announced on March 11, then go up for pre-order on March 31, and on sale from April 14. We have some idea of the price too, with a leaker suggesting the Oppo Find X2 Lite will cost €400 – €500 (roughly $550 / £390 / AU$685), the Find X2 Neo will cost €700 – €800 (around $915 / £645 / AU$1,145), and the Find X2 Pro will cost €1,000 – €1,200 (approximately $1,345 / £950 / AU$1,680). Of course, we’d take all of that with a pinch of salt too. For reference, the price of the Find X2 line ranges from £399 / AU$749 (roughly $530) for the Find X2 Lite to £1,099 / AU$1,599 (about $1,450) for the Find X2 Pro, so the leaked prices above are roughly in line with that. Before we start talking about the specs and features of the Oppo Find X3 range, it’s worth noting that there might not actually be a phone called the Oppo Find X3. According to Evan Blass (a leaker with a great track record), there will be three Oppo Find X3 phones, and they’ll be called the Lite, Neo and Pro, with no model just called the ‘Oppo Find X3’. We’re not certain of this yet though, and most rumors so far refer to either the Oppo Find X3 or the Oppo Find X3 Pro, so just note that when we mention the Oppo Find X3 below, it’s possible the phone we’re talking about will actually launch as the Oppo Find X3 Neo – or even the Oppo Find X3 Lite. We know some things for sure about the screen, as when Oppo confirmed the existence of the Find X3 range, it did so when describing its Full-Path Color Management System. Basically, this supports a wider color gamut and better color accuracy for viewed images. Also it ensures visuals don’t get compressed or tweaks as a video, image or game goes on its digital journey through the systems only our phone, making sure it looks as good as possible. One leak meanwhile suggests that the Oppo Find X3 might have a 3K resolution screen with a high refresh rate, while leaks surrounding the Oppo Find X3 Pro suggest it might have a 6.7-inch curved 1440 x 3216 screen with 525 pixels per inch and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. That’s broadly in line with a more recent (and detailed) leak, which suggests the Oppo Find X3 Pro will have a 6.7-inch 1440 x 3216 curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Oppo Find X3 Neo will have a 6.5-inch 1080 x 2400 curved AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, and the Oppo Find X3 Lite will have a 6.
