President Joe Biden has nominated Miami University professor and Myaamia Center Executive Director Daryl Baldwin to the National Council on the Humanities, the White House announced Wednesday. The council advises the National Endowment for the Humanities chairman and consists of 26 members, each appointed by the president and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Members serve staggered six-year terms, according to the National Endowment for the Humanities website. Baldwin is a leader in Native American language and cultural revitalization who won a MacArthur Fellowship award in 2016.
