The Lost City is barreling into theaters this weekend, just in time to remind us that some movies are made to entertain, not just to win Oscars. Directed by Aaron and Adam Nee, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Dana Fox and Oren Uziel, The Lost City promises to be the kind of classic action-comedy film that hit big in the early 2000s. Sandra Bullock stars as an author named Loretta, whose adventure-romance novels about a sexy hero named Dash always feature a cover photograph of a ditzy model named Alan ( Channing Tatum). One day, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who takes her books a little too seriously. And so the himbo Alan attempts to become the noble hero he portrays in order to save her. As you might expect, comical shenanigans ensue.
