Davis’ successful title defense caught the attention of several sports stars.
Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Rolando “Rolly” Romero entered the ring at Barclays Center in New York on Saturday with undefeated records and dozens of knockouts between the two of them. Davis, ESPN’s third-ranked men’s lightweight, looked to defend his WBA “regular” title, while Romero fought for a world title for the first time in his career. Ahead of the bout, Rolly didn’t shy away from expressing how he felt about Tank. Davis stated that this would be the last fight of his multiyear deal with Mayweather Promotions.
