The warm-up for a pretty stacked month of February
The first month of each year is pretty weak when it comes to new games releases, but 2023 is a bit of an exception. While there are certainly some interesting games coming out next month, January is more of a waiting lobby for February, which is a pretty stacked month with not just many titles scheduled to be released, but also major ones.
Granted, many of the games set for launch in January are, in fact, re-releases, they’re well-worth getting if you didn’t have the chance to play them when they were originally debuted. That said, let’s take a look at some of the most important games expected to arrive throughout the month of January 2023.
The first games of 2023 will drop way after the first week of the month. Scrap Riders is a brand-new PC and Nintendo Switch title, which is scheduled for release on January 9. The indie title is followed one day later by another PC-only game: Path of the Midnight Sun.
Children of Silentown, a dark point & click adventure game published by Daedalic is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on January 11. Just one day later, we have three new titles coming out: Lone Ruin (PC, Nintendo Switch), Chasing Static (PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch), and Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider (PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch).
One Piece fans will be happy to know that the next game in their favorite franchise, One Piece Odyssey, will land on PC, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox Series X/S on January 13. The same goes for Dragon Ball Z fans who will be able to pick up Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on the same day. Fans have probably already played Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot when it was originally launched back in 2020, but if you didn’t and you own a current-gen console, we can’t recommend this enough.
UnderDungeon, a humor-packed dungeon crawler with a simplistic black & white art style, is set for release on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on January 13.
