The long-rumored LEGO racing game, developed in partnership with 2K Games, is apparently in closed beta and screenshots leak online.
A new LEGO racing game called LEGO 2K Drive, though unannounced, is rumored to currently be in the closed beta testing phase. This info comes just over a year after it was rumored that 2K Games had partnered with LEGO to make sports and racing games. The racing title at the time was said to not be a racer like Mario Kart, but would instead take place in an open world.
Speculation began when a job listing was spotted for a producer role at Visual Concepts, a subsidiary of 2K Games. The description stated that, specifically, the studio was working on “an open-world driving game with a major license.” It was also believed that a soccer title was in the works or would be soon. Nothing was ever confirmed by 2K or LEGO, and since then, the two companies have continued on with other projects. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga launched in April 2022, and WWE 2K23 released to primarily positive reviews on March 17.
