Unlike the S22 FE, a Galaxy S23 FE seems to be happening after all, purportedly coming in late 2023 or early 2024 with the same 50MP main camera as the S23 and S23 Plus.
Between declining profits largely caused by weaker and weaker memory chip demand and a hugely successful iPhone 14 family that put Apple at the number one spot in the Q1 2023 global smartphone vendor hierarchy, it may seem like Samsung has more important things on its plate right now than the potential revival of the once-popular Fan Edition line of relatively inexpensive Android high-enders.
But while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 are undoubtedly set to take priority among the company’s future product releases, a Galaxy S23 FE could well follow just a few months after the highly anticipated next-gen foldable powerhouses.
Like the Galaxy S22 FE, this was at one point rumored to be nixed, which is however no longer the expectation of several typically knowledgeable and trustworthy publications like SamMobile and GalaxyClub over in the Netherlands.
The latter of the two aforementioned sources has it on good authority today (translated here) that a Galaxy S23 Fan Edition is very much in the pipeline with a 50MP imaging sensor in tow. This will obviously be just one of several cameras found on the handset’s back, with the number and specifications of the others remaining completely under wraps.
