The Cuban embassy in Washington, D.C., was attacked Sunday night by an individual who threw at least one Molotov cocktail at the building—an attack one Cuban official claimed was linked to terrorism, as relations between the U.S. and Cuba remain cold.Key Facts

Officials at the Cuban embassy contacted the U.S. Secret Service just after 8 p.m. Sunday to report that an individual threw a possible incendiary device at the building, located in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington D.C., according to Secret Service spokesperson Steven Kopek.

There were no injuries, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

There was no significant damage to the building or fire as a result of the molotov cocktail, Kopek said.
