iPhone 15 users facing CarPlay issues for USB-C cables: Report

The USB-C charging system on the iPhone 15 is reportedly causing issues with CarPlay for some users. Complaints have been made about the compatibility of USB-A to USB-C cables, with some not working properly in certain vehicles. Belkin’s BoostCharge USB-A to USB-C cable was successful for some users, but not for others. Trying various cables from known brands with data transfer support seemed to be the best solution for some users. Apple is said to be working on a fix for the problem.
Apple launched its latest smartphone lineup, the iPhone 15 series earlier this month. These new smartphone comes with several upgrades which also includes the USB-C charging. The upgraded charging system is reportedly affecting CarPlay for some iPhone 15 users. According to a report by MacRumors, multiple iPhone 15 users took to Reddit and other forums to complain that they are unable to get ‌CarPlay‌ to work with their new devices. A common problem amongst these reports involved the cable type and available port options. Multiple of these functionality problems were linked to USB-A to USB-C cables. Several cars including some of the recent models come with only USB-A ports and doesn’t have USB-C ports. For this users need a USB-A to USB-C cable. The reports claim that not all USB-A to USB-C cables available on the market are working properly. Moreover, some cables that work in certain vehicles are not working in others. A Reddit user notes: “I got in my car this morning and plugged my phone in with a USB-A to USB-C cord in order to use Carplay, and found it does not connect.
