OpenAI is reportedly in advanced discussions with former Apple designer Jony Ive and SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son to develop an AI device with over $1 billion in funding from SoftBank. OpenAI’s chief, Sam Altman, has enlisted Ive’s company LoveFrom to create the device.
SoftBank declined to comment on the FT report. OpenAI did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
