There are 16 Clockwork Castellans in the Resident Evil 4 remake; this guide shows the exact location of all.
The remake of Resident Evil 4 revives some of the old collectibles from the original game. (Think Blue Medallions and Hidden Treasures.) But the remake also introduces a mysterious collectible that most beginners never even stumble upon: The Clockwork Castellans. These are automaton toys of Ramon Salazar scattered all over the Village, Castle, and Island. There is one hidden Clockwork Castellan in each chapter, sixteen in total.
Finding and destroying castellans is not part of the main quest line. But, players who do so receive a special prize, the Primal Knife. It’s an indestructible weapon that the Merchant doesn’t sell. The only bummer is that the Clockwork Castellans are excruciatingly hard to find. And most RE4 players—beginner or veteran—need a guide to get all.

Each chapter has one Clockwork Castellan, which remains hidden, even with the treasure map. To find it, the player should follow the sound clues. A ticking clock noise is heard whenever a castellan is near, and it gets louder as the player approaches.
But if looking for clues is too much work, here’s where to find all 16 Clockwork Castellans:
The first Clockwork Castellan is on the cabin’s roof in Lakeside Settlement, where the player finds Luis Sera.
The second Clockwork Castellan is in the cabin north of the Abandoned Factory, where the player meets the Merchant for the first time.
