Fossil collection in Animal Crossing New Horizons is one of the activities that will take you the longest to complete but results in a cool.
Fossils are one of those unique items in Animal Crossing New Horizons that you will definitely come across at various locations on your island. You can discover five fossils per day in ACNH, but it will require some exploring on your end, as fossils tend to spawn at different locations each day.
Fossils in ACNH are also used as decoration pieces and are considered a quick way to earn lots of bells as well. Apart from that, you can also trade your duplicate fossils to get a hold of newer ones to donate to your museum.
However, finding all the fossils is not going to be an easy task as what fossil you dig up is always going to be random. Once you find a fossil, you will need to get it assessed by Blathers to reveal which fossil it is, which is how you find if it’s a unique fossil or a duplicate. Your chances of finding a unique fossil with every dig isn’t that great either. How to find Fossils in Animal Crossing New Horizons
You can obtain a Fossil by finding the star-shaped holes in different areas on your island. Dig that hole with a shovel, and you will unearth a fossil that you can add to your pocket.
Keep in mind that there will be a new star-shaped hole each day, which signifies that the fossils will respawn each day, so you need to be on the lookout for these specific holes.
Once you find a fossil, you can simply add them to your pocket and then bring them to Blathers at the museum. Talk to him, and you will get an option to assess fossils. Choose that option, and he will tell you which creature the fossil belongs to.
Depending on your luck, your fossil will randomly turn out to be 1 out of the 73 other prehistoric fossils. Some of these prehistoric fossils complete a creature, while others are a single item.Uses for fossils
Once you find and bring the final fossil to Blathers, he will exclaim that the final fossil has been found and will rant some of his museum humor at you.
After your conversation ends with him, you can head downstairs to access all three rooms, which will now have all the Fossils on display for you to observe in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In this fossil exhibit, you can check each fossil one by one, which will display its name and the date you donated it to the museum.
Once all 73 fossils have been added to the Museum, the next step that you can take is to sell the fossils you find. The game will keep on spawning new fossils at different locations even after you complete the collection. This means that you will be getting a lot of duplicates for each of the fossils that you collect, and instead of keeping them, you can sell them with relative ease at a good price.
You can simply visit Nook’s Cranny and speak with Timmy and Tommy there in ACNH. It turns out some of the Fossils fetch a high price, and this can also be seen as a good way to make a lot of Bells in ACNH.All Fossils in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
