Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane didn’t inform quarterback Josh Allen that he was trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs before the deal went through on Wednseday.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen wasn’t aware that the Bills were trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans before the news came out on Wednesday morning. After the blockbuster trade that sent Diggs, a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick to the Texans in exchange for a second-round pick, Bills general manager Brandon Beane revealed in a press conference that he did not tell Allen that the trade was happening beforehand.
Allen wasn’t completely out of the loop of the possibility that Diggs could be traded. Beane said he had told Allen earlier this offseason that there were teams inquiring about Diggs and a trade was possible. However, Allen was unaware that Diggs was officially getting traded to the Texans Wednesday before the news went public.
“I did alert him that there had been some inquiries and that it wasn’t 100 percent off the table,” Beane said in a press conference on Wednesday, via the Bills on X.
