The Ukrainian military claimed it attacked a Russian air force base at Morozovsk overnight causing significant damage.
Video has been posted on social media purporting to show overnight Ukrainian attacks on a Russian air force base at Morozovsk, in Rostov Oblast, which is situated around 190 miles away from the nearest territory controlled by Kyiv.
The attacks were confirmed on Telegram by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who said warehouses storing ammunition, including powerful glide bombs, were hit and that “information regarding the destruction of air-defense equipment and enemy aviation is being clarified.”
According to the announcement the attack was a joint operation involving the Security Service of Ukraine, Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Russian troops are continuing to attack their Ukrainian counterparts on at least two fronts in the eastern Donbass region and further north around Kharkiv, as they seek a breakthrough after nearly two and a half years of intense fighting.
