Father-son team and first time hosts Eugene Levy and Dan Levy hit the stage Sunday at the Peacock theater to get the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards started with feel-good jokes and gentle ribbing. During their monologue, the co-creators and stars of “Schitt’s Creek” made sure to point out that while they were both excited for the opportunity, neither of them are is a stand-up comedian.
“I wouldn’t even really call us hosts,” said Dan Levy. “More like actors acting like hosts, which is a huge gamble for us. But if it goes well tonight, my name is pronounced Levy [leh-vee], not Levy [Lee-vee].
