Kamala Harris Scores Record High Lead in Another Major Poll

A recent YouGov poll found Vice President Kamala Harris to have the largest lead any presidential candidate has registered in nearly a year.
Vice President Kamala Harris scored her biggest lead of the campaign so far in a major poll, published on Wednesday.
A YouGov/The Economist poll conducted September 15-17 found that Harris was leading her Republican rival former President Donald Trump by four points, with 49 percent to Trump’s 45 percent.
YouGov said this was the largest lead any presidential candidate registered in a weekly YouGov/The Economist poll in almost a year, since President Joe Biden led Trump 45 percent to 40 percent in a September 23-26 poll in 2023.

YouGov’s report was based on answers from 1,592 adult respondents. Adjusted for weighting, the pollster said the margin of error was 3.4 percent. The poll was conducted after the recent presidential debate, and about one in five respondents completed the poll after news of the second apparent assassination attempt against Trump.
This comes after a Morning Consult poll earlier this week found Harris to be six percentage points ahead among likely voters, with 51 percent compared to Trump’s 45 percent – her highest lead in that poll.
