Lana Del Rey has kept her love life out of the public eye for nearly her entire career.
And although she rarely speaks publicly about her relationships, the “Young & Beautiful” singer was linked to a few musicians and actors before marrying alligator guide Jeremy Dufrene in September 2024.
In fact, it seemed like their love was destined. In 2014, Del Rey said she would likely end up with someone a bit older — and Dufrene is 17 years her senior.
“I sort of have an affinity for really good, strong, self-assured people,” she told Rolling Stone when she was 29. “I would say I haven’t met them as much in people who are in their 20s. So for me, I have nothing in common necessarily with somebody who’s in their 20s – yet.”
“I’m really looking for an equal,” she added.

Del Rey broke onto the scene in 2011 following the success of her song “Video Games.”
At the time, the singer began dating Barrie-James O’Neill, a Scottish singer-songwriter.
“When I met my boyfriend … we always say that the entire time we were writing for each other, but we didn’t know it until we met each other,” she told Just Jared in 2012.
“So, you feel like even though you didn’t know the person then, all the songs are for them now. That’s romantic.”
O’Neill’s band, Kassidy, opened for Del Rey on her Paradise Tour in 2013. That same year, the pair sparked engagement rumors after the hitmaker was spotted with a massive diamond on that finger.
However, they announced their split in 2014 after three years of dating.
“He is a wonderful person. But there are some things he has to deal with,” Del Rey told Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten. “I will not explain it in detail. This was hard on our relationship. I no longer felt free.”
Shortly after announcing her breakup from O’Neill, Del Rey was spotted getting cozy with Italian director and photographer Francesco Carrozzini.
