EU Investigates Corning for Possible Market Abuse With Gorilla Glass Deals

The European Commission is concerned that Corning is locking electronics vendors into exclusivity agreements that may violate EU competition rules.
Corning is well-known for supplying protective Gorilla Glass for numerous electronics products, particularly smartphones. But the US company is now facing an investigation in the European Union over allegedly using “anti-competitive” tactics to lock in customers.
The European Commission has launched a formal investigation into Corning for possibly abusing its market dominance in supplying its protective glass to electronics vendors.
“The Commission has concerns that Corning may have distorted competition by concluding anti-competitive exclusive supply agreements with mobile phone manufacturers.
