Divided House passes resolution honoring Charlie Kirk

Some House Democrats voted against a bi-partisan bill passed Friday to honor the late Conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.
Sept. 19 With reluctant support from some Democrats, the U.S. House on Friday passed a bipartisan bill to honor the late conservative political activist Charlie Kirk.
The resolution passed with a vote of 310-58 Friday, with 95 Democrats voting in favor of the bill that was introduced by House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La.
In addition to the 58 Democrats who opposed the resolution, 38 voted “present.”
Prior to the vote, Johnson told House members there was “no partisan language” in the resolution and “no reason” and “no excuse” for Democrats not to support it.
