White Sox' offense dries up as team loses series to Guardians

The Sox have scored one run over two games against the Guardians.
There’s something about Cleveland that turns the White Sox offense anemic.
Though the Sox amassed more hits than Friday, the result was the same as they lost 3-1 on Saturday to the Guardians at Progressive Field, snapping their streak of three consecutive series wins.
In the first inning, Chase Meidroth and Edgar Quero singled to put runners on the corners. Then, Lenyn Sosa’ one-out line-drive single to left field drove in Meidroth. The Sox had as many hits in the first on Saturday as they did for the entire game on Friday and were in position to do damage.
But Quero misjudged how hard Mike Tauchman’s line drive was hit and strayed too far away from the second-base bag for a double play after Tauchman’s ball was caught. It was a poor base-running blunder that proved costly, as the Sox (57-93) were unable to stack runs against the Guardians after that chance.
“In that situation, you get a head high line-drive, you want to work back towards the base,” manager Will Venable said.
