Protesters smash windows at McDonald's, Bank of America ahead of swearing-in

NewsHubProtesters on the streets of the Washington, D. C., smashed windows of downtown local businesses, including a McDonald’s , Bank of America and Starbucks , before Donald Trump was sworn in as president of the United States.
Activists among the hundreds of people protesting on downtown streets also broke windows of parked cars ahead of the inauguration at the U. S. Capitol, and set fires in trash cans.
Video posted on Twitter showed shards of broken glasses spread across the sidewalks.
Police, who used pepper spray in an effort to stem the violence, have arrested an unknown number of protesters.
Not all of the protesters were violent.
One draped the fountain in DuPont Circle in Washington, long a focal point for the capital’s gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender population, with a red banner saying one word: “Resist! “
