President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday he will hold his first official news conference since being elected to the White House next Wednesday in New York.
Trump announced the session on Twitter:
I will be having a general news conference on JANUARY ELEVENTH in N. Y. C. Thank you.
He last met with reporters July 27, according to news reports .
In November, Trump announced a Dec. 15 news conference to discuss his business operations while serving as president, but that session never occurred.
He later said he would leave his company before Jan. 20 to “focus full time” on being commander-in-chief.
Trump’s presser next week will come a day after President Barack Obama gives his farewell address in Chicago.
