Chesterfield Township police are investigating a shooting that wounded a 17-year-old girl on Monday.
The teen was rushed to a hospital shortly after officers responded to the scene at a home near 21 Mile and Interstate 94, authorities said in a statement.
Investigators did not describe what led to the shooting but said “a male within the home, who called 911 at the time of the incident, is currently with the Chesterfield Police, ” according to the release.
That person witnessed an older-model silver Toyota driven by a white male with a “brush cut” hairstyle, approximately 20 years old, fleeing the area shortly after the gunfire, officials wrote. Other details were not released.
