A University of Louisiana at Lafayette student who acted fast is getting a $1,200 college bill paid by rapper Nicki Minaj, KATC reports.
It started when Minaj was announcing a video contest Saturday (May 6) . A fan tweeted at her, “Well you wanna pay my tuition?”
“Show me straight A’s that I can verify w/ur school and I’ll pay it. Who wants to join THAT contest?!” Minaj tweeted back. “Dead serious. Shld I set it up?”
Artavion Cook sent her a screen shot of his tuition bill, KATC says.
The university confirmed the news via Twitter.
Cook is majoring in kinesiology and aims to become a dermatologist, according to his Twitter account.
A few dozen fans took Minaj up on the offer, The Associated Press said. It was not clear how many got their wishes granted, but Minaj said she’d hold the contest again in a couple of months.
