North Korea claims it has successfully tested a new missile capable of carrying a « large, heavy nuclear warhead. » While the veracity of that specific claim is still unclear, it was the regime’s most successful missile test to date, and a key U. S. ally warns it is further evidence that, « we have entered a new level of threat regarding North Korea. »
Experts say the ransomware attack on computer networks that began last week was unprecedented, and could still be a threat. The European police agency says more than 200,000 computers in at least 150 countries were affected, and widespread new disruptions were reported today in Asia. Still, the global attack could have been much worse.
