President Trump declined to join in the G7 declaration to uphold the Paris accord on climate change on Saturday, according to a report.
Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the U. K. all reaffirmed their “strong commitment” to the Paris agreement, which the United States signed on to in 2015 under former President Barack Obama.
According to Politico, one senior EU official said that leaders have recognized that Trump is center-stage on the U. S. debate revolving around the Paris agreement. They official expressed appreciation for Trump’s consideration in possibly upholding the deal and now want to give him time to decide.
