Vivaldi Snapshot 1.10.834.9 is now ready for public testing
Vivaldi kicked off the development of Vivaldi 1.10 just one day after releasing the 1.9 stable series, and snapshot 1.10.834.9 is the second in the development cycle, bringing the ability to sort downloads by size, name, address, date added, date finished (see the attached video for details) , as well as support for setting a wallpaper as the Start Page background.
Unfortunately, the new option that lets you set a desktop wallpaper as the background image for the Start Page on your Vivaldi 1.10 web browser will only work on Windows 8 or later, as Vivaldi’s engineers are still working on porting this functionality to macOS operating systems as well.
“Today, we’ ve got more good news for those of you who like to organize all the various elements of your browser. This time it’s the Downloads – you can now sort them in your Side Panel by name, size, date added and date finished. You also have the option to sort them manually, ” said Maria Popova, QA Engineer at Vivaldi, in the release announcement.
The Vivaldi 1.10.834.9 snapshot also attempts to fix a nasty IME issue for Japanese users, rebase the web browser on the latest Chromium 58.0.3029.96 release, and adds a few improvements to the address field, developer tools, Notes and Speed Dial. The full list of changes is attached below for your reading pleasure.
Vivaldi Snapshot 1.10.834.9 can be downloaded for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now from our website if you want to take it for a test drive. However, we have to warn you that bugs are still present so don’t install this development build on a production machine.
