YPSILANTI, MI – One person has been released and another remains hospitalized following a fatal crash with a fire truck on I-94 in Ypsilanti.
Charles Horn, 34, of Ypsilanti remains in critical condition at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following the crash about 11 p.m. Memorial Day, May 29 on westbound I-94 near Grove Street, Michigan State Police Sgt. Michael Sura said Tuesday, June 6.
Horn’s 15-year-old daughter – who was previously listed in critical condition – had been released as of Tuesday, Sura said.
The daughter’s friend, 15-year-old Christina Snyder, was killed in the crash.

No first responders were injured.
The matter remains under investigation, but police say Horn struck a fire truck blocking a lane of traffic while first responders tended to the victim of a rollover crash.
Police believe all three in the vehicle were wearing seatbelts, but it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, police previously said. Excessive speed was not believed to be a factor.
No charges have been filed.
