Fans nationwide can type in several words related to Harry Potter, including house names such as Slytherin and Gryffindor, and notice that a unique color pops up, similar to how people’s names and pages are tagged in statuses, according to USA Today. If you click on the different colors, a wand will appear, shooting out sparks of color, lightning bolts and stars.
Pottermore revealed the Easter egg in a post Monday.
Monday marked the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter’s first publication. Author J. K. Rowling’s debut novel hit shelves on June 26,1997, in the U. K. under the title, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”
Twenty years after the book’s publication, the Harry Potter story has soared into a billion-dollar media project.
The series now includes seven books from Rowling, eight different films, a hit play and a spinoff film series that began with “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, ” released last year.
Rowling also often releases new information about the series to the Pottermore blog, offering a glimpse into the series and its characters.
Most recently, she revealed that there were actually two Harry Potters. One Henry Potter (who went by Harry to his friends and family) was the grandfather of the titular character’s father, James Potter, according to the Deseret News.
