It’s a wonder that Johnny Depp didn’ t consider what happened to Kathy Griffin when she got violent with a Donald Trump head.
At a screening of his movie “The Libertine, ” speaking onstage Thursday at Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England, Depp asked the concert crowd: “Can we bring Trump here? I think he needs help. This is going to be in the press and it’s horrible. But I like that you are all a part of it. But when is the last time an actor assassinated a president?”
He apparently got a few jeers from the crowd, and added: “You misunderstand completely. I want to clarify. I’ m not an actor. I lie for a living [but] it’s been a while. Maybe it’s about time. Just a question.”
Note for those not up on their American history: Depp was referring to the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln by actor John Wilkes Booth in 1865.
French fitness blogger Rebecca Burger died after a whipped cream can exploded onto her chest.
Burger, who had some 150,000 Instagram followers, was killed last weekend in a freak accident.
Her family says the pressurized canister blew up, hit her chest and triggered a heart attack, which ultimately led to her death.
The 33-year-old, who looked quite fit in tight workout clothes on social media, wasn’ t the only one to be affected by the devices.
Consumer groups in France and the U. K. have reported that the pressurized devices have caused other serious injuries including the loss of an eye and chest fractures.
At Thursday’s media preview of “Degas, Impressionism, and the Paris Millinery Trade, ” a show of pleasing paintings by masters and historic hats opening this weekend at the Legion of Honor, Fine Arts Museums Director Max Hollein praised curators Melissa Buron and Laura L. Camerlengo, not only for their excellent work, but their festive headgear; Buron was in a fanciful black number and Camerlengo sported a red cap-like design with adornments resembling ears.
Simon Kelly, a curator at the Saint Louis Art Museum, which co-organized the exhibit, also was on the scene, but not wearing a hat.
