‘Bachelor’ host Chris Harrison officiated Carly Waddell and Evan Bass’ wedding.
While two stars from Bachelor in Paradise deal with the fallout of accusations of misconduct on the show, another pair celebrates their wedding day.
Last week, filming of the fourth season ABC’s Bachelor/Bachelorette spin-off show was suspended after an incident on June 4 involving DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios led a producer to file a complaint with Warner Bros. But this weekend, former Bachelor in Paradise contestants Carly Waddell and Evan Bass tied the knot, with Bachelor host Chris Harrison officiating, People and E! report.
Waddell, 31, and Bass, 34, who met and got engaged last summer on the reality show, had a beachside wedding in Mexico.
Before their nuptials, Bass, who was introduced on JoJo Fletcher’s Bachelorette season, wrote a lengthy op-ed for The Hollywood Reporter defending Bachelor in Paradise.
“Bachelor in Paradise is my show. It’s my jam. Personal redemption, lifelong friends and the woman of my dreams are just a few of the many takeaways I found living on set for weeks at the air-condition-less resort. When the news about Paradise production broke the nternet, it also broke my heart, ” he wrote. He also explained how he and Wendell, who made her ABC debut on Chris Soules’ Bachelor season, fell in love in just one month.
“We spend all day, everyday with our fellow castmates. In a ‘real life’ dating situation, you go on a date for a few hours, text a bit, maybe set up another date a few days later, and you do that for a few months. So Paradise condenses it, ” he said. “It was adorable watching Carly order avocado, eggs and a black coffee every single morning (and she still tries to have that for breakfast every day) . Spending quality time with others is a lost art to the game of texting, but Paradise brings back QT. Carly and I sat on a beach for weeks talking. At first I creeped her out, but because of the time allowed to just hang after she friend-zoned me, she came to realize that she not only liked my flavor of creepiness, but wanted to marry it as well!”
Another Bachelor in Paradise pair also shared happy news recently: Jade and Tanner Tolbert announced they have a baby on the way.
