The talk show host, who was attacked for saying the N-word on television a month ago, made another insensitive race joke on Twitter Friday — this time aimed at Koreans.
“This N Korean thing is getting tense! I mean, I think it is, I’m on vaca (vacation) , ” he wrote. “The ladies at my nail salon are freaking out, that’s what I know!”
The message — which has yet to be deleted — instantly sparked outrage from social media users who were shocked the 61-year-old could find such an antiquated stereotype to be funny.

“B/c Koreans work at nail salons! Hahahahahahah ha haaaaaaaa, ” someone replied, mockingly.
Another added, “This literally reads like a Trump tweet.”
Maher’s attempted joke was meant to focus on the rising tensions between the United States and North Korea.
He has yet to comment on the backlash since posting it on Friday afternoon.

In early June, Maher referred to himself as a “house n—-r” after Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse invited him to come work in the state’s fields.
HBO quickly removed the comment from later airings of the show and Maher issued an apology, chalking it up to a “long night.”
“The word was offensive and I regret saying it and am very sorry, ” he said in a statement to the Daily News.
The host was able to keep his job on “Real Time” and later had Ice Cube as a guest, who told Maher it was a deeper issue.

„I accept your apology, but I still think we need to get to the root of the psyche, “ the NWA member said. „Because I think there are a lot of guys out there who are too familiar, or think they’re too familiar, or they had a black girlfriend or two that made them some Kool-Aid and they think they can cross the line. And they can’t.”
Maher previously lost his job on the show „Politically Incorrect“ after he made a comment just days after 9/11, saying the terrorists were not cowards.
A rep for Maher did not immediately respond to a Daily News request for comment.
