A Colorado camp staffer is lucky to be alive after he said a bear dragged him out of his sleeping bag by his head.
The 19-year-old boy, named Dylan, was camping with other staffers at Glacier View Ranch, a Christian camp site near Boulder, when he was attacked, Denver 7 reports .
Dylan said he was roused from his sleep by the bear gnawing on his head.
“The crunching noise, I guess, was the teeth scraping against the skull as it dug in, ” Dylan said.

“It grabbed me like this and pulled me, ” he added. Fellow staffers tried to scare off the wild animal, but it started dragging Dylan across the ground.
“When it was dragging me, that was the slowest part. It felt like it went forever, ” the teen told Denver 7.
Eventually, he was able to free himself from the bear’s jaws.
Dylan, who teaches wilderness survival at camp, suffered multiple bite marks on his head and was taken to the hospital. He’s already back home and doesn’t fear returning to the outdoors.

Officials said they believe the animal is the same one that bit the teen and, because of the attack, they euthanized the creature, Denver Post reports .
